Autumnal Medicine Making Workshop

On this two hour workshop, we will learn about the medicinal properties and benefits of elderberries and will make our own elderberry tincture to take home to support us throughout the winter.

We will also make our own blueberry & thyme sun tea to take home and enjoy during the darkening autumn days.

INTRODUCTION TO SPRING FORAGING

An introductory walk to edible wild spring plants and how to use them along the beautiful coastline and small river near Bossington.

I’ll share some of my favourite recipes for pickles, herbal infusions and more.

We will discuss nutritional benefits of plants and historical and modern day uses of wild foods. We will also cover how to best approach foraging and how to get the most from this incredibly rewarding, age old activity.

Wild Flowers Walk

This two hour long walk is a time to celebrate nature. We allow ourselves a time of wonder to appreciate the beauty of life flourishing from the earth beneath.

We will be looking at & learning about edible wild buds, flowers and leaves such as yarrow, daisy and dandelion. After the walk, there is also an opportunity to stop and enjoy a light lunch or cream tea at the Periwinkle Cottage Tea Rooms.

Spring Wild Herbs Walk

Join us to walk and talk about the early spring plants and herbs of the coastal path.

Take a stroll and learn about the wild, edible and healing plants and spring herbs growing this time of the year. Uncover their history and past uses by the community around them.

You will discover wild plant and tree identification, folklore and traditional uses of plants & herbs.

Please bring a notepad and pen, and dress appropriately for potentially muddy fields and rain. Walks go ahead even in inclement weather. Waterproof clothing and shoes are advised. Terrain will be paths, but with some steeper slopes and uneven terrain. Regrettably due to the uneven terrain and some narrow and steep slopes, the walk is not suitable for wheelchair users or for prams.

Booking is essential to keep the group relatively small.
